No Clue

Discovered these paper mache birds at The Magic Hedge/Montrose Harbor.

Cliffs Notes Version

I don't know about you, but I never realized that my Green Eggs and Ham book is obviously the Cliffs Notes version. Apparently, the unabridged version of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham, between the Economics book and the Dr. Jekyll book in the photo, is really as long as War and Peace!

What Every Balcony Needs ...

Another for the "No Clue" series of unexplainable scenes in the city.

If you don't have enough space in your condo to display your carousal horse, no problem! Just put it on your balcony.

No Clue ... revisited

Yet another in an irregular series of photographs of sights for which I have no explanation.

It's one of those things ...

... you WANT to know why there are handcuffs on the signpost ... but maybe not.

Sweater Weather

Somebody seems to have taken pity on this poor signpost and knitted it a little sweater to keep it warm during this chilly stretch.

Scary Tree Gnome

Jeepers it's a Creepy Peeper!

Did you ever walk down the street, glance over and see something very unexpected? That's what happened to me. I was not expecting to see a ghostly ghoulish mask somehow embedded into a tree hollow.

But there it was. So, of course, I took a picture!

Ummmm ... No Clue

Yeah, I don't really know what was going on here.

The two women did have leotards on under the sheet. And periodically the photographer would wave and sweep his arms around and then the women would sweep their arms out. Maybe this happens a lot near Montrose Harbor. The woman walking her dog doesn't seem to notice anything unusual.

But I'm going to use this one if the City Daily Photo Theme Day is ever "Sheets".

Not Only the River

It's not just the Chicago River that turns green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

I Don't Have a Clue

It isn't often you see five people standing around a canoe on the Chicago River.

Not "by the Chicago River" or "near the Chicago River" but "on the Chicago River".

So I haven't a clue what this scene was all about. It didn't really look like a racing scull and, if it was, why was it on the ice -- the river hadn't thawed enough yet. I also don't know how they got on the ice or where they went.
