Time for a little color. I always complain that it is so gray in Chicago during winter. Now that I'm doing this blog, however, I realize that bursts of color do exist.
It took a little searching, but I found the background of this mural. The "Loop Tattoo Mural" was designed by Johanna Poethig. The 6,500-square-foot mural is made up of 270 5-by-5-foot square mats that were mounted to the side of a building on Lake Street just off Michigan Avenue. Ms. Poethig and artists from the Chicago Public Art Group painted the mural.
